What are the fees for sending money?
The fees vary depending on the currency, amount, and type of service used. For more information, please refer to our schedule of fees.

When is the cut-off time for submitting a remittance transaction?
Our cut off time is 4:00pm from Monday to Friday and 1:00pm on Saturday. Funds received after the cut-off time will be processed on the following business day.

What are your remittance office hours?
Our remittance counters are open from 9:00am to 5:00pm from Monday to Friday and 10:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday.

We are closed on Sundays and U.S. Federal holidays.

How soon can my beneficiary receive the money I sent?
Estimated delivery time varies depending on the type of remittance service. It only takes about 24 hours for remittances to be credited to a Metrobank account. Normally, pick up over-the-counter remittances can be claimed within 24 hours at Metrobank branches and 2-5 days at payout centers. Depending on the beneficiary’s location, door-to-door deliveries are distributed within 2-5 days.

I am a first time remitter, what are the requirements for sending money?
Basic requirements include:
  • Complete information in Part 1 of the Remittance Application Form
  • Government issued photo ID (ex. passport or U.S. driver’s license)
  • U.S. Social Security Number, if any

I am located outside of the New York Metropolitan Area and can’t go to your office, how can I send money to the Philippines?
You may send your money via mail. All you have to do is follow these simple steps:
  • Fill out this remittance application form
  • Provide a copy of your government issued photo ID (ex. passport or U.S. driver’s license)
  • Mail them together with your payment either by check or postal money order payable to “Metrobank New York” (do not send cash).

How can I track the status of my "Mail-In Remittance"?
You may check the status of your Mail-In Remittance by calling our customer service representative at 1-212-832-0855 ext. 226 or via email at customerservice [at] metrobankny [dot] com.

Please be prepared to provide your remittance reference number before calling.

Do I need to maintain a Metrobank account in the U.S. and/or in the Philippines to send money?
No. Our remittance service is open to Metrobank account holders and non-account holders.

Is it necessary for my beneficiary to have a bank account in the Philippines?
No. We offer Over-the-Counter (OTC) Remittance, wherein your beneficiary can claim your remittance from any of our Metrobank branches and payout centers nationwide. Also we can make Door-to-Door Delivery to provinces listed here.

How do I pay my bills in the Philippines?
With our Online Bills Payment System, you can easily pay your family’s utility bills, loan amortizations, insurance premiums, etc. Click here to see the list of participating billers/merchants.

Can I cancel/amend my remittance transaction?
Yes. However, customers should take note that the nature of the remittance process is fast-paced. Hence, you need to contact us immediately.

The sooner you contact us after the date of transaction, the more certain we can be of cancelling/amending your remittance.

For cancellation/amendment, we charge a $10 fee.

NOTE: Once the funds are credited to the account of your listed beneficiary, the remittance cannot be cancelled. In this case, it is better to contact your beneficiary without the bank’s involvement.

How secure is my remittance information?
